MICRONEEDLING

Skin Rejuvenation with PRF Microneedling

PRF Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that has become increasingly popular in recent years because it delivers tremendous outcomes with almost no downside as it leverages your body’s own healing properties to provide immediate improvement for a variety of skin issues. As opposed to conventional microneedling, we use PRF, which is about 35-50% stronger than regular PRP and MUCH stronger than regular microneedling as it uses your body’s growth factors.

What is PRF Microneedling?

PRF Microneedling provides a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment to create something known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). By creating tiny punctures in the skin’s epidermis layer, this technique stimulates collagen, reduces pores, revises scars, promotes hair regeneration, and diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. Enhanced with PRF, it capitalizes on the skin’s ability to repair itself resulting in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance with more collagen production and tighter skin.

How Does The Procedure Work?

The entire procedure typically takes around 60 minutes to complete, though this may vary depending on the size of the treated area. The number of sessions needed varies based on your specific goals and skin condition.

01
Blood Draw
The patient’s blood is drawn and processed to extract the patient’s own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) which is quickly processed in a centrifuge to separate the PRF from other components of your blood, such as red blood cells and plasma.
02
Numbing for Comfort
To ensure a pain-free experience, we start by applying a topical anesthetic, typically a BLT cream (Benzocaine, Lidocaine, Tetracaine), to the patient’s skin.
03
Delicate Precision
A thin layer of PRF is applied topically. This allows our skin-needling device, equipped with 12 fine needles, to smoothly glide over the skin during the procedure. Our skilled practitioner gently applies the device to the epidermis, where it penetrates the skin to a depth of up to 2mm. This process creates the response needed with the applied PRF for maximum results.
04
Activating Natural Healing
These micro-perforations act as signals for the body to kick start its natural healing process, stimulating the production of elastin fibers and collagen. Over time, this leads to fuller, more youthful-looking skin. We typically recommend 1 treatment every month for 3 months, then 1x – 2x a year for on-going maintenance.

What conditions does Microneedling treat?

Microneedling can help alleviate a number of skin issues for every type and color of skin. Overall, this procedure helps improve skin imperfections and enhance collagen production while helping to tighten and improve skin texture.

Microneedling FAQs

What is the downtime for Microneedling?
On average, patients undergoing the Microneedling procedure experience redness for up to 3 days, a natural skin response to the minor injuries made by the needles. However, many people heal in less than 24 hours. We have many options to expedite the healing process. You do need to stay out of the sun for 7 days following treatment and use plenty of moisturizer to help with any peeling that can occur.
How many treatments of Microneedling are recommended?
We typically recommend 3 treatments for most patients. 1 treatment monthly for 3 months, then 1 treatment once or twice a year to maintain the results. We will sit down with you and design the optimal regimen to achieve your goals. Patients with significant acne scars may need to do more rounds.

The Citrin Experience

Wow Dr. Guy is incredible! Not only does he have a great personality but he is extremely intelligent and makes his patients feel very comfortable! I have told all my friends about him and I will be going back for a visit soon! Also, his natural PRF/vampire facials literally had me looking at least three years younger. I did it right before the wedding and all of my friends kept saying how clear and tight my face looked!
