What is peptide therapy?

Over the years, the use of peptides to treat many issues has increased exponentially. Peptide is a chain of amino acids also known as a protein.

Our certified and experienced medical professionals provide our patients with the best peptide therapy protocols to improve overall health and well-being while deploying targeted remedies where peptides can significantly impact a situation. We have developed a list of FAQs to help you better understand peptides and their benefits.

Peptides – What are they?

Peptides are best described as the building blocks of proteins composed of amino acids that regulate the body’s biological processes and functions. They occur naturally in the body and act as signaling mechanisms. Peptides instruct other molecules and cells on the functions to perform for better health management.

Did you know that:

  • There are more than 7000 peptides inside the human body
  • Each peptide is responsible for generating and facilitating a different body response and action
  • The FDA has approved more than 60 peptide medications

Peptide Therapy Explained

Though the human body produces peptides naturally, their production may vary widely with age. The quality and amount of peptides are likely to decline as you get older. Peptide therapy can be a suitable option in such cases with minimal downside risk and almost no adverse side effects.

Peptide therapy restores your body’s ability to stimulate the cellular regrowth systems for specific conditions. Moreover, the treatment is customized to suit your unique needs and goals.

What are the benefits of Peptide Therapy?

Peptide therapy offers numerous benefits to achieving overall health and performance, including:

Who is a suitable candidate for Peptide Therapy?

Why should I consider Peptide Therapy?

As peptides occur naturally in the body, it’s no surprise that they create a ripple effect across the multiple functions if there is a deficiency. In such a situation, it is best to consider peptide therapy to restore your body’s functions by mimicking the peptides your body naturally produces, thereby restoring the desired response without potentially harmful drugs that could have side effects.

How quickly does the therapy work?

You will likely notice results in a few short weeks when you begin your therapy. However, you may have to wait up to six months to experience the full benefits of peptide therapy as they work naturally to get your body to balance the amino acids and proteins your body requires.

How are Peptides administered?

They are administered via various methods, directly into the bloodstream using subcutaneous injections, nasal sprays, topical creams, and oral tablets.

Peptide therapy is beneficial for both men and women of almost any age. If you want to ensure optimal health and well-being, and performance at your current age, Peptides could be the answer. Peptide therapy is perfect for you if you want to:

Our medical professionals will assess your specific body needs and health concerns during a consultation and design the best protocol for your situation. Some of the indications where Peptides have proven to be a successful treatment solution are:

What are the different types of Peptides?

There are many types of peptides. Some of them are:

BPC-157

Used for wound healing, gastric issues, and tendon and ligament damage.

BPC 157 is probably the best researched and safest peptide. This is a peptide composed of 15 amino acids. It is isolated from human gastric juice found in the stomach. Numerous research has demonstrated that it accelerates the healing of many different wounds, including tendon-to-bone healing, and superior healing of damaged ligaments.

When taken orally it can assist in healing of intestinal damage such as stomach ulcers, fistulas, IBS, Ulcerative Colitis, inflammatory disorders, gastro-intestinal issues, Crohn’s disease and leaky gut.

We use BPC 157 in our regenerative injections as well. When combined with PRF or taken alone, it has shown to help with tears, tendon and ligament damage, and general joint discomfort.

Cerebrolysin

Used to aid with brain (neurotrophic) repair which can assist with memory, focus, learning, and cognition.

Cerebrolysin is a naturally occurring nootropic peptide which contain neuroprotective and neurotrophic repair properties. The active fragment of Cerebrolysin is made of proteins with very low molecular masses that do not exceed 10.000 daltons. This means they can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and reach neurons directly. Cerebrolysin has been proven to have neurotrophic action similar to nerve growth factors, which cause peripheral and central neuronal stimulation.

It improves efficiency within the brain’s aerobic metabolic processes and improves intracellular peptide synthesis. The neuroprotective properties of this nootropic agent help to shield neurons from lactocidosis, to prevent the formation of free radicals, and have been studied in Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, ALS, TBI, and stroke.

Cerebrolysin helps promote the growth of new brain cells, which helps improve brain cell communication enhancing learning capacity.

CJC 1295 & Ipamorelin

Used for Muscle Building, better sleep, and fat loss.

- CJC 1295 stimulates growth hormone secretion and can keep a steady increase of HGH and IGF-1 leading to fat loss and increased protein synthesis, thereby promoting muscular growth.

- Ipamorelin is a selective Growth Hormone secreter.

CJC 1295 & Ipamorelin combined create a synergistic effect, making the combination more powerful than each one used separately. The combination allows a maximized release of GH since they each have a different mechanism of action - working on different receptors.

CJC 1295 performs better than the older and outdated GHRH, Sermorelin. Sermorelin’s efficacy decreases with time and the body produces antibodies to Sermorelin.

Copper (GHK-CU)

Used for skin repair and hair regrowth.

GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper complex that was first identified in human plasma. They are small, naturally occurring protein fragments that have high affinity for copper ions. GHK-Cu has a variety of roles in the human body including, but not limited to, promoting activation of wound healing, attracting immune cells, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, stimulating collagen synthesis in skin fibroblasts, and promoting blood vessel growth.

They can play a big role in signaling tissue remodeling which removes damaged/scarred tissue and helping with generating new, healthy tissue. However, these positive effects decline with age because the concentration of GHK-Cu in the body decreases with age. As it deceases with age there is an increase in inflammation and tissue destruction. Since GHK-Cu plays an important role in skin biology, it is widely used in cosmetics as a reparative and anti-aging ingredient, as well as, used for hair regrowth.

DSIP (Deep Sleep Inducing Peptide)

As the name suggest, this is used to aid with deep sleep.

Delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) is a naturally occurring substance. This curious substance is a nonapeptide that is normally synthesized in the hypothalamus. As its name suggests DSIP promotes sleep and this has been demonstrated in rabbits, mice, rats, cats and human beings.  DSIP has been shown to promote a particular type of sleep which is characterized by an increase in the delta rhythm of the EEG.

Some of the effects of the peptide are accomplished through the modulating action on a modulating influence on the activity of GABAergic, glutamatergic, and other neuronal systems.

DSIP is normally present in minute amounts in the blood. Brain and plasma DSIP concentrations exhibit a marked diurnal variation and there has been shown to be a correlation between DSIP plasma concentrations and circadian rhythm in human beings.

MOT-C

Used best for mitochondrial repair assisting with enhanced metabolism and energy.

MOTS-c is a naturally occurring peptide in the body that has been shown to promote resistance to metabolic stress by up-regulating the mitochondrial genome, which encourages mitochondrial biogenesis.

MOTS-c activates AMPK. AMPK restores homeostasis by initiating ATP production. Literature also suggest that MOTS-c decreases insulin resistance.

Mots-c can be used for weight loss (regulating muscle and fat metabolism) and energy (cell survival in toxic conditions). It is consistently used by athletes to enhance their performance. MOTS-c is consistently used by sports performance athletes to enhance one’s performance. It also displays a

promising effect in longevity. Centarians have been shown to have high levels of mots-c!

NAD+

Used to enhance production of energy in mitochondria.

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a universal cellular electron transporter, coenzyme, and signaling molecule present in all cells of the body and is essential for cell function and viability. NAD+ is naturally occurring in the body and is vital for energy (ATP) production in all

parts of cellular respiration: glycolysis in the cytoplasm and the Krebs cycle and electron transport chain in the mitochondria.

NAD+ levels are highest in newborns and steadily decline with

chronological age. After age 50, they are approximately half of the levels seen in younger adults. NAD+ replacement therapy may promote mitochondrial health and homeostasis, genome stability, neuroprotection, healthy aging, and longevity and may aid in treating addiction.

This can be applied best as an IV or subcutaneous injections.

PT 141

Used for sexual enhancement with both men and women.

PT-141 works directly through the nervous system to increase arousal, desire, and satisfaction with intercourse. Although most of the research has been targeted towards female sexual dysfunction it has been found to be effective in sexual dysfunction in both men (helping with erectile dysfunction or impotence) and women (sexual arousal).

Unlike Viagra and other related medications, it does not act upon the vascular system, but directly increases sexual desire via the nervous system. It currently has no contraindications and can be up to 80% effective in me. For women, it has been shown to increase up to 50% in sexually satisfying experiences.

Selank and Semax

Semax and Selank are used to assist with mood regulation: anxiety and stress primarily amongst others.

Selank is a naturally occuring peptide. While traditionally prescribed for anxiety and depression, it has been known to be effective in many other treatments related to PTSD, ADHD and immune system help. Selank has pronounced anti-anxiety activity and can help to stabalize neuropsychotropic, antidepressant, and anti-stress that can relieve aggression and fear reactions in different animal species.

Semax has been shown to exert pleiotropic non-hormonal actions among their larger activities. These classes of peptides control many behaviors such as regulating attention, processes of learning, and memory

formation as a result of their pronounced effect on the central nervous system.

Tesamorelin

Used to aid in reduction of abdominal fat and enhanced cognition function.

Tesamorelin is a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that increases IGF-1 levels in both men and women. It binds to and stimulates GHRH receptors with similar potency as endogenous GHRH. Other benefits include the ability to reduce triglycerides. Tesamorelin has subsequently been shown to visceral adipose tissue (VAT), and c-reactive protein (CRP).

Clinical trials have shown that Tesamorelin significantly reduces abdominal fat. Additionally, it has been shown to aid with cognitive function for seniors and patients with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Thymosin Alpha-1

Used for support with general immune system function.

Thymosin Alpha 1 has been well researched for its immune-boosting properties. Made in the thymus gland,  Thymosin Alpha 1 is a naturally occurring protein messenger that is involved in the creation of your T cells (which fight pathogens and viruses). T cell production and action within the body is vital to adaptive immunity, i.e. the ability of cells to recognize and kill foreign invaders.  Therefore, this peptide is often prescribed to prevent and aid with viral, bacterial, and even fungal infections.

Because certain types of T cells fight cancer, Thymosin Alpha 1 has been shown to have anti-cancer properties in some studies. Thymosin Alpha 1 may also combat signs of aging by slowing the age-related deterioration of the immune system and other bodily processes.

Ta1 has been shown to enhance the function of certain immune cells called T and dendritic cells. These white blood cells play important roles in the body’s defense process - especially for patients with a depressed immune system or suffering from an infection.

Thymosin Beta 4

Used for muscular and tissue repair.

Thymosin Beta 4 is produced naturally by the thymus gland. It controls the maturation of T-cells.

Thymosin Beta 4 plays a role in tissue repair. Thymosin Beta 4 is mostly prescribed for acute injury, surgical repair and for athletes. Additionally, it has most recently been shown to help regrow hair when used in conjunction with PRP/PRF.
